Last night’s Season 20 premiere ‘Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes’ rated 9.30 million viewers. While that makes the episode the lowest watched Season premiere on record, it is not different enough to last years premiere (9.43 million) to be cause for concern. The Simpsons was the most watched cartoon on FOX last night, with Family Guy scoring 9.2 million viewers and American Dad/King Of The Hill much less.
FOX was second among adults 18-49 for the night, thanks largely due to NFL overruns, while NBC was in first and CBS in third place. In overall viewers, people weren’t happy with FOX’s cartoon and sports serving, where they ended up in fourth place for the night. The Simpsons and King Of The Hill were in fourth place at 8pm, behind Sunday Night Football, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and The Amazing Race.
Another new episode, titled Lost Verizon, airs next Sunday October 5.

The Limited Edition Comic Book Guy Head box art for the season 12 DVD release has finally been revealed by TvShowsOnDVD.com. The set will be released on August 18th in the US and Canada, along with the standard version of the set, featuring Comic Book Guy in a superman-like pose.

No matter how low the ratings were, it was a good ep. Maybe it’s a bit bad that it’s the lowest rating out of all of the years, and you would think they would be better since it’s the 20th… but anyway, at least it beat Family Guy and King of the Hill and American Dad. Go Simpsons! Good job. Can’t wait until next week!

It was an alrite ep + alrite ratings.

Why do they still go by ratings? It is the internet age and a lot of people watched the episode on line for sure.
I sure did, because I was working and the only way to watch it after was to go on-line.
I mean, isn’t it better for Fox to just start broadcasting on the net? They can have all the advertisement (who make possible this episodes) on the sides, and just make the video available the same time it airs on TV.

(Sorry to repost) On certain websites you can legally like Hulu. There are some site where you can watch it illegally, which due to the SC rules, I can’t mention. I am thinking of starting to do that maybe, especailly as I live in the UK (Bridgend in South Wales (between Cardiff and Swansea) – to be exact). You should coun’t how many view on the internet, and publish that number too Ad.
September 30th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
There’s no way for me to track the amount of internet views, are you actually serious?
For future information, they aren’t the ‘SC rules’, they are the rules of Fox. I should know, I’ve received 12 – 15 legal notices from them in the last ten years.
Anyone with half a brain already knows how to use the Bittorrent network via sites such as The Pirate Bay or Isohunt so there’s no point in discussing how or where on the net to find them.
September 30th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
I did not mean YOU (I thought I should of made this more clear at the start!) But for Hulu and FoxOD to have a tracker, see how many people watch it. Sorry for the consfusion – my fault there.
Every site has recived C&D notices for unfair reasons – it is excatly a blame-my-writers reason.
Where I live was in brackets – for anyone to read IF they wanted to.

Well, I meant that if Fox aired the episodes on the net, it would be easier for them to know how many people have clicked to watch it. Besides, many people know the Simpsons website, so it would be easier to find and watch them there.

WOW I can’t believe so many ppl rated this ep 5 stars in the poll. I thought it was only 3 or 4. And wouldn’t there be a problem in counting US ratings via the net when ppl from all over the world just watch the eps on illegal sites as well as things like hulu using a proxy.
September 30th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
Yes, and after the amount of 5s on the poll I’m starting to think the majority of the visitors would be impressed if Homer came on the screen and said D’oh for 22 minutes.
Will try it again for Lost Verizon but there’s no way I’m continuing the polls if everyone’s being so un-serious about it. 5 stars means there was no room for improvement.
I gave it a 2, myself.

On a weekly basis, I do not think the polls are that good, maybe every massive or popular episodes.
Oh and sorry for yesterday.

that was a cool episode. There were a lot of episodes in the 19th season i couldn’t stand. such as the season finale. But now in the 20th season, the simpsons just got a lot more awesome!
