Preview: New High Definition Opening

opening

Sundays episode of The Simpsons entitled “Take My Life, Please”—will include the first full, permanent revamp of the show’s opening titles since its premiere in 1989. The titles were slightly modified for its second season but some pieces of animation were left over. Above are preview pictures from the new opening, which gives the titles a style similar to that of The Simpsons Movie. The new titles were a necessity as the show moves towards a high definition widescreen broadcast which prevented the old opening from being used. The new titles promise to stay true to the old ones, with a bunch of references to the last nineteen seasons thrown in.

A video of the credits is now available, watch it below!

Nice, the good thing about a new intro, it shows that there still maybe a few years left in The Simpsons still.

New intro is defiantly better than the old one: Style of the show is changed years ago, but intro staid as it was in first season.

And as Gaulty says, this is good sign that Simpsons will stay with us many more years! :D

Hmmm… was this because it was matt’s Birthday today! (15h feb)??!!?!?!?

Because sky one here in UK says that its matt’s birthday…

Anyway nice intro, but I think part of the beginning was similar to the movie

Also, I liked the couch gag and dat the TV broke, never was that long since the evolution couch gag.

The new opening looks great, but they really screwed it up trying to be funny :(

It looks much better and shows updates of how the characters are now. Much more attention to detail. Looks very nice and sharp.
