Season 21 Premieres With Homer The Whopper

The 21st season will begin on September 27th, 2009 at 8:00pm with “Homer The Whopper”.

    Homer as 'Everyman'

Comic Book Guy casts Homer as the lead in “Everyman,” a feature film based on the new comic book superhero he created. To whip him into shape for the part, the movie studio hires celebrity fitness trainer Lyle McCarthy (guest voice Seth Rogen) but Homer has trouble sticking to his new, healthy regimen.

This episode is co-written by Seth Rogen, and was originally intended to air in season 20.

I really think this episode will be good and funny, especially judging from season 20.

This sounds appalling. Aren’t we sick of CBG yet?

This could be very good episode.
It reminds me at same time on the episode when Homer tried to get on top of the Mount Sprinfield, and the episode when Homer gave his voice to the cartoon dog Poochie in Itchy and Scratchy show.

It could be wining combination, I hope that viewers will like it…

I really wanna season 21 to be good and funny, because to me season 20 wasn’t as funny and good as we wanted, season 8,9,7,6 those were really the best seasons ever in the simpsons, but I think that season 21 would be very funny and good because I think that the staff of the simpsons read the opinions of season 20 and believe me guys they weren’t so good unfortunately, but I still love the simpsons, they rock

      @ a simpsons fan

If they’d be listening to the comments they’d have seriously done something different about 10 seasons ago. They’re not going to suddenly turn around and make season 21 as good as the single digit seasons were. Just don’t hold your breath, chances are you won’t be impressed with season 21.

@ Brian- Yeah, nothing special wont happen…
We really had some great seasons back in the 90′s, but this new seasons can only get worst and worst…

That is our sad reality, but I only hope that there will be SOME good episode in this new season worth of watching twice…

the 20th seaon of the show was great after it started jumping the shark in the other previous seasons, and I look forward to the 21st season. I guess that the bueaty of a cartoon is it can always come back from a terrible season or 2, and Congradulations Matt Groening with all your succes on the Simpsons I hope Futurama is just as succsesful for you as it deserves to be, both shows are brilliant!!

Is anyone here holding a “Season 21 premiere party?” or just getting together with friends to watch it?

On a separate note, does anyone watch it regularly with their family?

Final question: Know anybody who’s NEVER seen the show, or who outright hates it?

I work for a production company that’s putting together something for the 20th Anniversary of the show. Thanks in advance, guys!

Simpsons still kick @ss after 20 years.

…I really do wish they would go back to making the show with hand painted cells like they did in the 90′s though. I know it would take longer to make the episodes, but I just liked it better that way.

Just because it the newer version of animation, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s better.

Just watch the animation in the clip on the right. It doesn’t have that lame shadowing everywhere. It’s actually REAL animation. It’s something people poured their hearts into making. This CGI or whatever is nothing but a lazy short cut that just ends up making The Simpsons go down a notch.

to nicolas who said the seasons are only going to get worse and worse i say bullshit. not every season has been as funny as the last, but you can hardly say that the last 10 seasons have all been declining. season 11 and 12 were brilliant

People are too idealistic bobby. They think that every new season gonna bring something big, special, something that gonna astonish us all.

But when new episodes actually come to television, people get disappointed and mad. That’s why I said that we can only hope that new season will bring us episodes witch quality will be at the same level as it was in last season, anything else would be one big surprise for me- This show is very old, but I also hope that they still got enough quality idea to run a flew more seasons.
