The Simpsons topped ratings last night with 8.65 million tuning in to watch “Thursdays With Abie” at 8:30pm, up by an impressive 25% on the last new episode.

A new episode of Family Guy at 9:00pm was 2nd on the night, seen by 8.1 million. 6.96 million tuned into a new The Cleveland Show; an all-new American Dad at 9:30pm was once again 4th on the night, with 5.91.

American Dad was the only show on the night to do worse than it’s previous new episode, with a 10% drop in viewer ratings.

Next week sees the milestone 450th episode of The Simpsons airing, “Once Upon a Time in Springfield”, which will be preceded on the night with a 1 hour special hosted by Morgan Spurlock at 8:30, “The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special: In 3D! On Ice!”.

nice ratings. pretty funny stuff. although i was extremely dissapointed with the stolen joke. (garbage, garbage mine line, garbage garbage my line) that was taken from the movie “man on the moon” about andy kaufman.

Would you mind putting the joke in the context of the episode? I can’t remember it and I want to try to determine if it was stolen or just a reference to Man on the Moon.

    Also, good episode.

when grandpa gave him gone with the wind, he flipped through and said “garbage garbage my line”. in man on the moon, when andy is tony on “taxi” and flips through the script saying “bullshit bullshit my line”

Might just be a simple reference. Simpsons etc. do it all the time.

Hilarious episode! Loved Lenny and Carl shouting back and forth on top of the train. Go back and watch it, though; the first time they show Lenny in that scene he doesn’t have his beard!
