12/24/00 - Rudolph Get Your Nose Over Here
This
will be our last update before Christmas. So I wish
all my visitors a safe and happy Christmas, and all
the best in the new year.
I was treated to an early Christmas present when I
logged on this morning. The great great guys
at Smoovenet decided a site with a history like this one should
have it's own domain name. So they surprised me, and
upgraded our address from simpsons.lardlad.com to www.simpsonschannel.com overnight. Both URL's work, (the old url forwards
you to the new one anyway), but from now on, our home
is simpsonschannel.com. Thanks again to Tek and Richie.
12/21/00 - South Of Springfield Returns At Last
South
Of Springfield closed it's doors temporarily
on August 24th this year. It announced that www.frinky.com
would become it's new home when it reopened. Just
under four months later, South Of Springfield is back.
The new design is reasonably simple and easy to navigate.
The site will soon feature a few character subsidiaries,
none of which are ready at the moment. I can't find
anything significantly different about the content,
which I'd expect after being gone for so long. The
important thing is that it's up. Check it out.
A lot of people want to know how my rebuilding process
is going. I've got the new design up to the stage
it was at before the crash, and I'll have a bit of
time to work on the rest after Christmas. Just some
notes about the design: It's virtually got the same
color scheme as now and it will not support 640*480
users, like SOS. This is so I can add new features
to the main page and create more working space.
12/18/00 - El Yo-Yo Es Grande!
The
Simpsons Tree has introduced it's new Character
Spotlights feature. If there's a great Simpsons character
out there with no website, Nate will create a mini-page
for you. The first spotlighted character is Bumblebee
Man. The mini site, although small, features enough
information to get you up to date with the character
and has a great set-out. The tree has modified it's
design to accomodate the new feature. Check it out.
12/17/00 - You're The Birthday Boy Or Girl
I
was hoping for our third birthday to be more eventful
than this. But here we are. Three years later. Sure,
we haven't updated for over a month but we're still
here. Okay, so that's not entirely a good thing.
Yes, I noticed your complaints, and I was aware that
the site was dying. So earlier this week I decided
to actually make some changes here at the Channel,
to regain people's interest. I did it. It was a slight
redesign, and was pretty funky, judging by the reaction
of the one person who saw it. So I was going to work
on the interiors for the rest of the week, when suddenly
I'm hit by a virus that decides to wipe out my whole
drive. Sassy. I was pretty happy. The big birthday
surprise is out of the bag, but is also non-existant.
Not one graphic remains from the new design. Happy
birthday to The Simpsons Channel...
I'm going to make the design again. It'll feature
some cool new goodies. In the meantime I'll keep this
version updated for once. Keep a look out for it in
early 2001.
For
a detailed (and over-dramatized -- what was I on?)
run-down on The Simpsons Channel's history, click here. And now
the news... Introducing The
Simpsons Mainframe. With a touch of Beyond
Blunderdome and The Simpsons Showcase, this merged
site has already become one of the best sites on the
net. Jan Selig is responsible for the cool design.
Make sure you check it out! Be on the lookout for
a slightly new design at The
Simpsons Tree. Thats all for our third anniversary.
Later.

11/4/00 - I'm Checkin' In
Okay,
I'm back from my unscheduled break. I haven't missed
very much considering I haven't updated for half a
month. Here's an update on the most important things
that have happened.
It's been a while, so people new to the Simpsons scene
will not remember back when eSimpsons closed down temporarily. It's finally back online
with a great new design and a heap of new content
gained from a merge with the now defunct Simpson Tide.
It's still in it's early stages but will surely get
better. Make sure you check it out.
The
Simpsons Folder is currently offline. Jukka
hasn't really told us why, but I think it has something
to do with the domain. It should be back up soon.
Fox is back, with Simpsons
Surplus being their latest victim. SS has
been hit before in the past, but this time they were
busted for having a Downloads section.
Remember, if you want me to announce anything that
has happened to your site, there's more of a chance
that it will be mentioned if you fill out the Make
Announcement form.

10/14/00 - Sweeet Sweeet Can
No
doubt you've heard around that Sweeetnet is being
closed down. The network of sites will cease to exist
this coming Thursday. So like everyone else, The Simpsons
Channel is packing it's bags and moving out. This
is probably our last update on Sweeetnet, and the
domain will probably be transferred to our new home
of Smoovenet on Monday. You wont be affected by anything during
this proccess, the url will stay the same, etc. Because
it's going to be a messy week and I may not be able
to update, I've already hung up the Halloween decorations,
keeping with our tradition in previous years.

- Jebediah Would Be Proud Of You!
After
promising a re-open several months ago, It started
to look like we'd never see Jebediah
Springfield Park again. But the day has finally
come. What was once the net's most under-rated Simpsons
sites will now hopefully get the attention it deserves.
The site returned today with a brand new flash design,
using bits and pieces from the last one. It's looking
great. Those popups are annoying, though. Some of
the sections aren't completed yet, but they'll be
up soon.
9/19/00 - Everybody Tuck Your Pants Into Your Socks!
As
reported not too long ago, The Simpson Treasury will be left unupdated
for an unspecified amount of time. To avoid having
a main page filled with old, 5 month old updates,
Lee has made a brand new layout for the site, minus
the update column. The site looks nothing like it
has ever looked before, with a nice new light blue
and white colour scheme. It's looking pretty neat.
Hopefully Lee will change his mind and we can see
it being updated in the near future. Check it out.
9/18/00 - Looks Like Bad News For The.... impson Family!
A
new site has opened today, titled The
Springfield Outlet. The site has a fair amount
of content, featuring images, games, information,
and interactivity. The domain name 'frinkian.com'
bares an amazing resemblence to 'frinkiac.com' and
to a lesser extent, 'frinky.com'. The design is very
similar to about 3 other sites at the moment, the
main reason being that it uses DHTML navigation. I've
already had my two cents worth on DHTML navigation,
so I want to hear your opinions.
9/16/00 - Lets Put Barts Beautiful Drawing Up On The
Fridge!
Simpsons
Picture Central,
a new site from the person who brought you I'd
Rather Be In Springfield, has opened today, and
it couldn't have come at a better time. Focusing entirely
on images, it is sure to make a great-fill in for
the gap that The
Springfield Gallery left. The images at this
site are some of the best quality picgrabs I've ever
seen. The site also has Wallpaper, ASCII Art, and
Tutorials. Framegrabs are on their way. With a great
design to top it all off, this is one not to miss.
9/15/00
- Picka-Bar? What The Hell Is Picka-Bar?
Bartholomew's
Quest For Knowledge has a really nice new design. The site isn't exactly
finished yet, but the sections on the navbar look
promising. The site looks much better than it did
before. As well as a new design, the site has moved
to it's own domain at trabpukcip.com.
It's a tough one to type, and if you have never seen
that Simpsons episode before, you won't remember the
site address at all. When typing it, remember it spells
'Pick Up Bart' backwards, so read it over carefully.
That's the only major flaw in the site, but it's definitely
a site to watch for the future.
9/9/00 - You No Talk-a With
You Accent No More!
Lee
Kaldany of The
Simpson Treasury has decided to leave the
site unupdated. Nooooo! He is currently making a new
layout minus the update column, which should be up
soon.
The The
CBG Files has been shut down! While it was
never updated, it was the best tribute to Comic Book
Guy on the net. Mark Navarro of South
Of Springfield plans to make a CBG site in
the future, so there's something to look forward to.
And speaking of SOS, it will be re-opening shortly
at it's new home of www.frinky.com.
August

8/26/00 - Your Manager
Says For You To Shut Up!
The
Nelson Muntz File has been given a new design,
similar to the last. It's nice to see that the author
has stopped trying his hardest to make a few bucks
from the site. Cooder
& Spud: The Freaks Of The Carney has also
been redesigned. I hated the last design, so it's
good to see a change.
On the 24th of August, Eric updated every links page
on this site. Check if your site was among those new
one's listed.
8/19/00 - Speaking Of Shoes,
I Don't Care About Shoes..
I'd
Rather Be In Springfield has a nice new layout.
The site color scheme is rather plain, but it works
well. It has also escaped the 'left navigation' look
and has gone for the (:sigh:) dhtml dropdown menu's.
All that aside, the design is better than before.
The
Long Life Of Grampa Simpson has changed it's
name to 'Grampa Online'. The site also has a new layout,
but sadly, updates will not resume.
8/16/00 - Thanks For The
Nose News, Neighbor!
A couple of months ago, The
Ned Flanders Realm closed it's doors. A week
later, due to comments made on the Simpsons Radio
show, the owner re-opened the site, although it would
be left un-updated. But now, the owner has decided
to start updating the site again, and to give the
site a fresh new start, it has a new layout. Like
the last layout, this one is very effective and one
of the best designs for a character site on the net.
Great to see it back!
8/15/00 - Look At The Colors,
Children!
The
Springfield Gallery has a new layout. I don't
really like the new design, but it fits the criteria
needed for a site that only offers pictures. He was
aiming for a simple layout, and thats what he got.
I don't see why it needed to be changed though.
After a number of close calls, Sounds
Of The Simpsons has received a real C&D letter
and the site will be closing on Aug 20th. Until then,
you can download all the sounds the site had to offer.
8/12/00 - Sexy Simpsons
World Order
The
Simpsons World Order is 3 years old, and to
celebrate, the site has been given a new design. It's
one month late, but who's counting. There are also
lots of new sections to check out and prizes to win....
go NOW!
The
Apu Files has moved to apu.maggied.com.
Check out a new site, Comic
Relief at smingers.com.
8/9/00 - 'Round And 'Round
And 'Round....
'Round
Springfield has been given a really nice new
design. This design has been in production for a few
weeks. The site has escaped it's blue colour scheme,
and the 'left navigation' standard template look.
'Round Springfield now sports one of the most original
Simpsons-site designs on the net today. I didn't like
the colours at first, but after a few visits, it has
grown on me. Make sure you take a look. Thats all
the news I've got for you today.
8/8/00 - It Says Show Me
Your Tie, It's Cute!
The
Simpsons Showcase has finally opened it's
doors. The site has been in production for quite some
time, so it is nice to see it open with a large amount
of content and a nice, eye-appealing design. Definitely
one to watch, and has great potential. Check it out.
Simpsons
Fanworks Central has a new design. It's similar
to the last, but has reduced loading time and fixed
bad colour contrast. Overall, it's better than the
previous design, make sure you have a look.
July

7/30/00 - Oh My
God! He's Killed The Original Alfalfa!
The
Simpson Treasury has moved to it's own, bannerless
domain, www.kidmoe.com.
It also has a nice new design. It is similar to the
last, but the changes are good.
Eye
On Springfield is currently being redesigned...
Or shutting down... eh, I can't make any sense of
this message.
John
Fiedler has kindly fixed the errors received
on our 'reply' forms of the editorials on this site that do not have any follow-up's. Thanks,
John.
7/28/00 - I Thought Springfield
Was America's Scrod Basket?
I'd
Rather Be In Springfield has a nice new layout.
It's more of a color scheme change, but either way,
it looks better than it did before. Make sure you
check out the image gallery at the site. Some real
nice pics there.
The
Tale Of Two Springfieldians has moved to it's
own domain at www.flimpsons.com. Update your bookmarks!
Now for some fun, Jukka Keskiaho of The
Simpsons Folder has made a spin-off of the Simpsons
Radio Show. It's pretty funny. Read this
post at the SMB for more.
7/26/00 - Time For Another
News Flush
The launch of the new design on Thursday ended
up with mostly positive comments, which is good to
hear. It took less than 72 hours for somebody to copy
it. The Speak
Up topic has been changed. This week we're
asking "Should Evergreen
Terrace finally get a new design?". Make
sure you submit your comments on the topic.
A new editorial has been added. This one is titled Web Design In
Simpsons Sites and it was written by Chris
Swanicke.
7/24/00 - Wel-diddly-elcome
Back, Ned!
The owner of The
Ned Flanders Realm has decided to re-open
the site due to comments made on the new simpsons
radio show. The site will remain static, but is back
online.
Nate has given the Simpsons
Radio Show website a nifty new design. It's
much better than before.
Springfield Surveilance has changed it's name to I'd
Rather Be In Springfield. The site has also
moved to the frinky network, so update your links.
7/22/00 - KBBL Is Gonna Give
Me Something Stupid!
The Simpsons community has totally lost it's
mind... with Bryan Ludvigsen and Nate Gilmore today
releasing their new Online
Simpsons Radio Show. Yes. I said radio
show. Odd actually, no radio's are involved. Instead,
every week you will be able to download a 15 minute
streaming mp3 file and listen to Nate and Bryan talk
about the latest in web news. Be it a new design,
address change, or cease and desist orders, they'll
talk about it. Sound stupid? Give it a listen, I thought
it was a stupid idea too, but it's really good. I'll
be looking forward to it next week.
7/20/00 - Now...Where's That
Channel Changer?
Surprise! What the hell is going on here, you
might be asking yourself? Well, I don't know about
you, but I'd love to have a surprise like this. Hope
you guys like our brand new design! As you can see,
not one element of the last design has been included
into this one. Some people didn't like the blue, and
although I liked it at first, after six months I decided
I didn't like it anymore, hence the lack of updates
in April, May and June. There was a similar design
plan before this which I scrapped a while ago. You
can still see it here.
There is one
bug with background colors in a certain version
of IE5.5. My tip: Uninstall it.
Remember Springfield
Community Switchboard? It's gone. I've moved
all articles over to this site, and you are still
free to submit new editorials and reply to the existing
ones. Two new editorials have been added today. Another
new section is titled Speak
Up. In this section I ask you a general question
about current Simpsons news events and you reply with
your views. Your opinions will be added instantly.
We do have another new section. It's a page About
This Site. Here you can find a very large
editorial on the history of the site. Thats all for
today. Enjoy the changes!
7/18/00 - Thank You Come
Again!
It's not every day that an excellent character-based
site comes along. The latest is the fill in for the
now-defunct Much Apu About Nothing, titled The
Apu Files. One of the things that stands out
with this site is it's excellent original design;
I haven't seen anything like it before. It also has
some nice content. Check it out if you haven't already!
7/15/00 - Bye Diddly-Eye!
The
Ned Flanders Realm closed it's doors the other
day. It was one of the nicest character sites on the
net, with an excellent design and great content.
The
Springfield Gallery was scheduled to be back
online today with a new layout, but the opening date
has been pushed back. The site will now re-open in
late August. The owner has decided to take a break
from Simpsons websites for now. We will inform you
of any futher news when we get it.
7/13/00 - This Just In --
Powersauce Is Amazing!
Behind
The Laughter has moved to it's new domain
at powersauce.com. Same site, new location. Make sure
you update your links and bookmarks.
This Just In: The
Simpsons Sourcebook is holding an online chat
with Simpsons writers Josh Weinstein and Bill Oakley
tomorrow (Friday) night at 10pm EST/ 7pm PST. Make
sure you're all set for the event. You will need to
sign up for a Fandom account, so do that now rather
than at the last minute.
7/12/00 - Two Years And Counting
Some of you may not know, but this site used
to be owned by a guy named Brian Chen. He was in charge
of the site from December 1997 - July 1998, and then
he passed it to me, Adam Wolf, when he lost interest.
Today marks the second anniversary of my ownership
of this site. I have taken the site through two design
changes and moved it to two different locations. The
graphic on the right is what the site used to look
like when I took over. You can view the full site
by clicking the image. In the past few months updates
have been pretty rare. As you can see, I've decided
to clean my act up a bit this month. I'll update whenever
there is news, and hopefully you can put up with me
for another two years.
7/7/00 - Sweeeet Sweeeet Can
The
CBG Files has moved to it's own domain name
at gummyvenus.com. Along with the move, the site has
been given a slightly new design. I personally liked
the old one better, but this is still good.
First there was FIST, then there was The Great Simpson
Blackout, and now there's Webmaster
War III. The owner of this new 'fight fox'
site hopes that the site can become as sucessfull
as its predecessors (even though they didn't achieve
much at all). It's worth checking out.
7/5/00 - Little Miss Springfield
Little
Miss Springfield has a fantastic new design.
As with the previous design, the owner has made the
page using flash, which makes the page more interactive.
Excellent work. It's a lot better than the previous
design, which was also very unique. Make sure you
check out the new sections and content while you're
there.
As announced the other day, The
Springfield Gallery is currently down. The
owner has now given a release date for the new design,
so mark July 15th on your calendars.
7/2/00 - Marge..I Think I
Hate Ted Koppel!
Simpsons
Surplus has had some slight design changes.
Nothing huge, and I wouldn't exactly call it a 'new
design'. It looks better though, check it out.
The
Springfield Message Board has found a new
home at maggied.com. Also, as reported a few weeks
ago, it has changed scripts by popular demand. The
board is now better than ever, so if you haven't signed
up yet, now's the time.
The
Springfield Gallery is currently offline.
It should return really soon, and the owner promises
a huge change. I'm looking forward to seeing what
he can come up with.
A new site dedicated to Marge has been opened. The
site, titled The
Twisted World Of Marge Simpson has a nice
design, and I'd expect more content in the future.
Last
Exit To Springfield has selected McBain
Forever as it's new hosted site to replace
Much Ado About Nothing. For those of you who don't
know, McBain Forever was one of the two greatest sites
dedicated to McBain in 98/99. The site should be returning
at it's new home soon.
June
2000
6/24/00 - C&D Blitz
Dennis Wilson has gone on another C&D spree, with
8 sites hit over the past few days. It started off
from a visit to Evergreen
Terrace, but after Dennis grew a brain and
finally clicked on Eric's subsidiary links, all hell
broke loose. All of ET's hosted sites (6 altogether)
were asked to remove all multimedia, including pictures,
sounds, and games. The final site that received a
C&D was Simply
Bart.
6/18/00 - Just South
Of Springfield
Just
South Of Springfield has dropped the 'Just'
from it's name, and has been given a nicer new design.
The owner decided to drop the Evergreen Terrace look.
It has also opened with a new Forum, which the owner
is calling an alternative to the Springfield Message
Board.
Speaking of the Springfield
Message Board, Due to many comments and suggestions,
it will be switching to a different format sometime
this month. It will use the Ultimate Board script
which can be seen at the South
Park Forum.
Chris Jean-Louis has given up on the Simpsons community
and shut down Much
Apu About Nothing and quit his position at
Last Exit To Springfield. With MAAN gone, Last Exit To Springfield is offering free
space to a character site, new or old. If you're interested,
and are willing to hold a banner at the top of the
pages on your site, email Adam and he'll pick the site most deserving.
Since we last updated, a new site titled The
CBG Files opened. It's a really nice site
and has been through a number of designs already.
It has been redesigned once again today.
May
2000
5/27/00 - My Baby
Beat Me Up!
Just
Maggied has received a nice new design. It's
much different to the last, with a new colour scheme
and concept, but is still very original and compact.
Check it out.
The
Definitive Frink appears to be down at the
moment. The rest of the internerd server is still
up and running, however I don't see any reason why
Aaron would remove the page. If and when it comes
back, we'll inform you.
5/26/00 - It's Like Kissing
A Peanut
Considering throwing in the towel? It
seems like a trend at the moment. The owner of Moleman
In The Morning has decided to call it quits
for the summer. For more information, visit the site.
5/23/00 - This Just In: Go
To Hell!
It's not very often a great site comes
along without notice, and the latest, titled Eye
On Springfield looks as if it could become
a big hit. It has a nice design, but only minimal
content at the moment which will surely grow in time.
Despite the title, which has been used way too many
times, this page could only get better. Have a look!
Another new site has popped up, titled The
Springfield Googolplex. It's design is simple,
yet effective.
Barfly:
A Tribute To Barney Gumble has received a
nice new design. It's much better than before. Check
it out.
5/20/00 - Behind The Laughter
A brand new Simpsons site titled Behind
The Laughter opened its doors just minutes
ago. The page has a huge amount of content and will
be updated often. Check it out.
Flash is the future of the internet. First there was
Cletus' Farm. Now comes a new Simpsons site titled The
Simpsons Halloween Special Page, which is
a fully-animated dedication to the Treehouse Of Horror
episodes. The site is incomplete at the moment, but
you can check out the flash intro etc.
The first Bart site to appear since The World Of Bart
Simpson has opened today. Simply
Bart features a nice design and a stack of
content dedicated to Bart Simpson. Right now it's
the only decent site dedicated to him on the net,
but I know of another Bart site opening soon.
5/17/00 - FOXy Lady
Looked like Dennis had gone for a while
there, but no, he's back. In pog form. Two sites were
hit in the past two days, both of them being the only
great sites left that offered multimedia. 'Round
Springfield and Maximum
Homerdrive have both removed all their multimedia
content due to orders from the FOX lawyers. Esimpsons also received one, except later discovered that it
was a fake.
News has been at an all time low this month. Remember
to submit your news to me if anything happens to your
site and I'll announce it. Eric updated the Link pages
about a week ago, so check to see if your site was
listed.
5/9/00 - It's Your Fault
I Can't Talk!
A new website dedicated to Maggie Simpson
has been put online. The site, titled Just
Maggied features an awesome design, and looks
like it will have some nice content in the future.
Check it out!
Krusty's
Funhouse has been moved to isimpsons.com and
has a new owner. This domain was once home to Homer
Simpson Mania, which received a C&D. If Fox come back
to check up on the site, I'm pretty sure the site
will be C&D'd soon.
5/2/00 - Hey It Happened
Again!
A bunch of fake Cease and Desist letters
were sent out to about seven websites yesterday afternoon.
Sites include Last
Exit To Springfield, 'Round
Springfield, Maximum
Homerdrive, eSimpsons, The
Simpson Treasury, A
Burns For All Simpsons and Moleman
In The Morning. Some prankster out there thought
it would be hilarious to send out these emails and
watch sites close down one by one. No sites have been
closed as yet, however Moleman
In The Morning and A
Burns For All Seasons now fear that Fox know
about them and will be coming to get them. Moleman
has moved to a slightly new address.
A note to anybody even considering sending out fake
C&D's, don't bother. The email address may look real,
but there are other ways to find the sender of the
letter. You will never win; it's just wasting your
time and not ours.
5/1/00 - Just South Of Springfield
Just
South Of Springfield has been given a slightly
new design. It's layout is the same, but all the graphics
have changed, and it looks a lot better than it did
before. Check it out.
The overlooked Jebadiah
Springfield Park will soon return to the net
at the domain irsburger.com.

4/27/00 - Are You
Ready To Get Duffed!?
A few new sites to report on today. The first is the
return of the site that you love to hate, Deconstructing
Simpson Sites. The site has a new design and
has moved to a new address. Two new character based
sites have also hit the web. The first is The Fortress Of Solitude, dedicated to Comic
Book Guy, and the second is a very small site dedicated
to a very minor character, Duffman.
The
Long Life Of Grampa Simpson may end up having
a short life after all. The owner of the site, Christof,
wants to find a new owner for his site as he is too
busy to maintain it. If you think you're up for the
job, Click
Here to apply.
The Simpsons Archive have posted the latest information on Season
12 which includes synopsis for about five
of the new episodes. They have also given their doubts
on the rumor of a new addition to the family which
was previously reported.
4/24/00 - Let Us Boogie!
Much
Apu About Nothing has been given a nice new
design. It's basically the same layout as it was before,
but the color scheme is completely different. Check
it out.
SEYMOUR!!,
a dedication to Superintendant Chalmers has reopened
and has a new design.
Life
On The Fast Lane has been slightly redesigned
after being online for just a couple of days.
The Harry Shearer chat we reported last update has
been pushed back. It will now be at the same time
(5:00 PST) tomorrow night. For details on joining
the chat, read the last paragraph in the update below.
4/20/00 - Here Are Your
Messages...
The Springfield
Message Board has moved to a subdomain of
simpsons100.com, and also has a hell of a lot more
categories. If you're not already a member there has
never been a better time to sign up than now.
The
Long Life Of Grampa Simpson has received a
slightly new design, and new sections and content
have also been released with the facelift. Check it
out.
A nice new site titled Life
On The Fast Lane has opened. Could be one
to watch for the future.
Tonight at 5:00pm PST, IGN will be holding an online chat with Harry Shearer.
Harry provides the voice of over 100 characters on

Flanders. You must have a user name and password to
log in, so make sure you're prepared.
4/19/00 - Color Me Pickled
Tink!
It's been 13 months since The
Simpsons Treasury decided to shut down, and
about two months after it's set release date, the
site has finally re-opened. Featuring a new original
design and brand new content, the site should become
a hit again if it continues to update. It is currently
hosted at a subdomain of duffless.com, but may be
getting it's own domain in the future.
The battle of the Homer site's is over. Homer
Simpson Mania will soon merge all it's content
with The
Homer Files, and become one huge source for
all your Homer needs.
4/18/00 - Tree Moves To
Lardlad
The
Simpsons Tree is finally back up after being
offline for three days. The site had originally planned
to move to smarch.com as we mentioned the other day,
but due to some CGI errors at the server, Nate has
moved the site to http://www.lardlad.com/tree for an unspecified amount of time; most probably a
month or so. Update your links only if you're prepared
to change them back in a month.
4/17/00 - The Springfield
Gallery
The
Springfield Gallery has been redesigned! The
new design is much better and brighter than the last.
Check it out.
With the Tree out of the picture, I suppose it's up
to me to introduce two new character sites. The first
is a tribute to Barney Gumble, titled Barfly,
and the second is dedicated to Sherri and Terri. Good sites, check them out.
4/16/00 - Chair Goes Round!
'Round
Springfield has been given a new design, slightly
similar to the last. Not all pages have been given
the new design yet, but will in time.
The
Simpsons Tree was re-uploaded to the icbiass
server last night, but is now offline again. The ICBIASS
server isn't even up to let people know they were
deleted anymore. The Tree will find a temporary home
for the next month, possibly at smarch.com.
4/15/00 - Kiss My ICBI-ASS
I
Can't Believe It's A Simpsons Site is currently
down. Dennis Wilson contacted the host of the domain
and told them he wasn't complying with their requests.
You may have heard from a source such as The
Simpsons Top 100 that this is the END of ICBIASS
forever. But never fear, icbiass.com will return in
about a month. This time it will be hosted on his
own server, so if Fox contacts his provider, he'll
only be contacting Chad again. There's still no word
on where The
Simpsons Tree will be staying for this period
of downtime, but we'll keep you posted later today.
Since the last update, there have been a number of
C&D's. Along with ICBIASS's second, Simpsons
Surplus has received it's third, and Simply
Simpsons got another one. Homer
Simpson Mania and Three
Eyes On Springfield received their first.
Also since the last update, a great new site titled Just
South Of Springfield has been opened. Also,
a new character site dedicated to Martin has hit the web. Check them out.
The
Simpsons Zone has shut down merged it's content
with Esimps.com
4/2/00 - April Fooled!
Unless you have no brain at all, you would
have noticed yesterday's redesign of The
Simpsons Tree was an April Fools prank. He
wasn't kidding about one thing though.. the site really
was getting a new design. Today the site sports a
brand new excellent design. The new layout has no
popup window and is much more compact.
There was another April Fools joke out there that
fooled 99% of our visitors. The Simpsons Channel getting
a C&D? It'll never happen, and I fooled everyone,
including Brian Chen.
4/1/00 - What The HELL!?
I can honestly say I was NOT expecting
this... at all. The Fox network has sunk to a new
low. I checked my Eisa mailbox today (not the lardlad
one, as they should have) and found a C&D. "Great,"
I thought. "This one's for LETS." No it was NOT for
LETS. It was for The Simpsons Channel. What are we
doing at The Simpsons Channel that is illegal, you
may ask? Apparently, this:
Although you do not distribute any illegal material
through your site directly, we notice you do link
to sites containing Sounds, Movies, and Images, thus,
encouraging your visitors to download such content.
After reviewing your web site, we must request that
you remove all links to sites containing material
in the form of sounds, images, and movies.
What a load of crap. Now it's LINKING to sites that's
illegal? Can they DO that? Frankly my dear, I don't
give a damn.
4/1/00 - Another Two Bite
The Dust
What a start to the month. Much
Apu About Nothing and Simply
Simpsons were the first two C&D victims for
this month. And it's not a good sign for things to
come. Simply Simpsons was punished for using Sounds
and Wallpaper. Fair enough, but he also states that
the owner should not open it's new section 'KBBL',
as it will contain Transcripts from Simpsons episodes.
MAAN has to remove Sounds and Framegrabs.
Update: Yes, you heard me.. Just one hour after
posting the news above, Brad Dugan came online and
told me about *drumroll* a C&D in his mailbox. This
is the second C&D Simpsons
Surplus has received, and this time, it's
ten times worse. Dennis wants the following sections
removed. Sounds, scans, framegrabs, 3D pictures, 640*480
images, calendars, duffless, desktop icons, and downloads.
Why doesn't he just write 'Shut down your site, Brad'.
He isn't completely sure what to do at the moment,
but we'll keep you posted.

3/31 - Good Moleman
To You
The only dedication to Hans Moleman, Moleman
In The Morning has a great new design. Check
it out. Do it for the Mole People.

Evergreen
Terrace is back up after it's short hiatus.
The site is now on a more trustworthy server and hopefully
it won't happen again.
3/30/00 - SOS Is Back In
Town!
Sounds
Of The Simpsons is back up and running. The
owner made this decision when he realized that he
was giving the fake C&D sender what he wanted. The
owner promises to update more, but then again, he
says that every time.
Little
Miss Springfield can now be reached by typing
in lisasimpson.net. It will redirect you to the Simplenet
account, but both can be used.
3/29/00 - I Like To Put
My Feet Up
A
Burns For All Seasons has been moved from
milpool.com to smarch.com due to conflict with IGN/UGO
banners. Looks like he picked a good time to move
too, because Evergreen
Terrace is currently down. Their host booted
them off the server for using too much bandwidth.
Milpool.com will be up and running as soon as possible.
Maximum
Homerdrive and Sounds
Of The Simpsons both received fake C&D letters
yesterday. The owner of SOS was well aware that the
letter was a fake, but after thinking about it for
a while, he decided to shut the page down anyway.
This leaves The Simpsons Folder all alone on The Springfield
Connection.
The
Simpsons Tree will release a new design this
Saturday. I've seen the new design and it's much better
than the current one. Can't wait.
Last
Exit To Springfield has received yet another
C&D, however, most of the content asked to be removed
was at The Legitimate
Businessman's Social Club. Meanwhile, It's
newest subsidiary, Much
Apu About Nothing remains Fox-less.
The
Milhouse File is currently under construction.
It will reopen soon with a new design, title, and
more content. Hopefully it will be updated a little
more too.
Tyler Snellings has opened his new site under the
name The
Simpsons Web. Ryan Irvine isn't very happy
with his choice of the title.
A new Simpsons themed button exchange has opened,
creatively titled The
Simpsons Exchange.
The
Simpsons Linksite is expanding into "The Linksite
Network". It will feature link pages for Family Guy,
The Simpsons, Futurama, and South Park. The site is
in desperate need for co-owners who can help him find
and pass on the names and URL's of these cartoon-themed
sites. If you are interested, Email
the owner.
Insert
Caption Here has moved to a new server.
Following it's Cease and Desist letter from Fox, I
Can't Believe It's A Simpsons Site is rebuilding.
It has plans to build several new character-themed
subsidiaries, as mentioned on the main page.
Several hosts are standing up to FOX after their recent
letters. Fandom is battling Fox against the allegations
made in the C&D sent to The
Simpsons Sourcebook, and the host of irsburger.com says they will also battle Fox if any of their sites
are forced to remove content. Nice to see something
happening.
3/18/00 - I Love You Cletus!
Cletus'
Farm is no more. The site used to be the home
of full length Simpsons episodes in RealVideo format,
but Fox found them. After thinking the C&D was a fake,
the owner of the page deleted the email. A few months
later they realized that the letter was indeed real,
but decided not to do anything until a follow-up letter
was sent. Now when you go to the site there is just
a Flash image of the grease and shovel goons. I guess
this means Fox sent another letter. To hell with them.
Homer
Simpson Mania has moved to isimpsons.com.
It was supposed to have a new design, but it's running
a little late.
3/17/00 - LETS Opens @ Lardlad!
It's been a long wait, but today, Last
Exit To Springfield is back online at a new
location and a new address. The new layout has taken
months to complete and it was well worth it. Today
also marks the site's third year online, making it
one of the oldest Simpsons sites on the net. Make
sure you check out the new sections!
The
Legitimate Businessman's Social Club has re-opened
after a years break. The site is owned by Nate Gilmore,
and is an affiliate of the new Last
Exit To Springfield.
Fox have gone and done it again. The
Wav King has received a C&D letter.
The
Nelson Muntz File and Deconstructing
Simpsons Sites are both back online at new
locations.
3/9/00 - Fox Hits Fandom
The
Simpsons Sourcebook has received yet another
Cease and Desist letter. This is the third C&D given
to a site labelled 'The Simpsons Sourcebook'. The
first was at pixel-fusion.com, the second was at frinkiac.com,
and now this one at Fandom.
3/6/00 - Zeppelin Rules!
Two more sites have made the move off
madhosts today. Cypress
Creek moved to Ed Slavin's domain, frinky.com,
and The
Otto Show has moved into a milpool.com subdirectory
with a cool new design.
3/4/00 - Lousy Smarch Weather!
It's been a tough week for many webmasters.
Numerous Simpsons websites have been inaccessible
for several days due to the madhosts.com server going
down. Due to this, both 'Round
Springfield and Maximum
Homerdrive have changed hosts and are back
online. The
Long Life of Grampa Simpson has also moved,
but Cypress Creek, The Nelson Muntz File,
and a few other pages are still down.
The
Lovejoy Files, The
Simpsons Top 50, and Deconstructing
Simpsons Sites have all shut down. The
Springfield Gallery has moved to its own domain
name. The owner is also looking for sites to host
at frinky.com.

2/17/00 - Stamp Collection!?
Ha Ha!
Collecting
Simpsons has changed it's design for the
first time in over two years. The new design was made
by Shannon from Picks'
Tribute To The Simpsons. It looks great.
The
Simpson Treasury will soon return to the
net. It should be up at the end of February.
Springfield
Message Board has finally been re-opened.
2/12/00 - Just Move That
Cot Out Of The Way
Today two sites have moved. The first is Cypress
Creek, which has moved to the Madhosts server,
and the second is Maximum
Homerdrive, which now has its own domain at
homerdrive.com.
2/11/00 - The Simpsons Top
100
Surprise! The
Simpsons Top 100 has been given a facelift.
The new design has been worked on for the last two
months.
The
Simpsons Encyclopedia has moved to duffless.com.
The site will also, from now on, be known as 'Round
Springfield.
The
Ned Flanders Realm has moved to Sweeetnet. Insert
Caption Here has a new design. Check out this new site which features scans of Simpsons
comics in wallpaper form. eSimpsons will soon be opening at www.esimps.com.
2/9/00 - Banners / Multimedia
/ Slapnuts
Those are just three of the topics in the nine Springfield
Community Switchboard articles added today.
The last batch of articles created a lot of controversy,
but I can tell you this batch should create just as
much.
2/5/00 - Move It Or Lose
It...
Simpsons Surplus has moved to it's domain, smarch.com.
The
Simpsons Folder has slightly changed it's
design. Although the concept is the same it has been
cleaned up and now looks a hell of a lot better.
Six new articles have been added to the Switchboard today.

1/30/00
- Can I Help You?
Two more redesigns
from Character sites today. The
Sarcastic Clerk has moved and sports a great
new design, and The
Lovejoy Files also has a new design. The Sarcastic
Clerk is only temporarily on the ICBIASS server, and
only it's main page is up at the moment, although
the content will be coming in the future.
1/29/00 - Left Power
The owner of The
Leftorium will be moving the site to a domain,
rather than be hosted on a Simplenet server. Snake's
Greasepit will also be redesigned along with the move,
and a few new character sites will be opened there.
Three SCS Articles today. Thanks for sending these in. All three are
articles about Fox and their recent C&D letters.
1/28/00 - Another Day, Another C&D
I
Can't Believe It's A Simpsons Site today was the next site to receive a Cease and Desist
letter from Dennis L. Wilson. Congratulations Fox,
you have sucessfully managed to wipe out every major
site that had multimedia to offer, now you may go
to hell. Chad is almost certain that the site will
stay up.
And now for some
last minute news.... The
Simpsons Matrix has received... a Cease and Desist letter from Fox.
Because most of it's content was asked to be removed,
the owner is shutting down for now.
1/27/00 - Krustylu For Sale
Krustylu.com is being sold to anybody who wants it. If you are
interested, contact John by clicking here.
And if you couldn't tell by that goofy image over
there, I've updated SCS.
Two articles have been added, which were sent to me
yesterday. Once you've finished reading them, please
send your own... or don't, see if I care.
1/26/00 - A Tale Of One City...
Cypress
Creek has been redesigned. This new design
is so much different from past layouts. The owner
has gone for a 'desert' look, using various 'desert'
colors and patterns.. which is unlike the actual Cypress
Creek in the show at all. But who cares, right? Nonetheless,
the new design is better than past designs, check
it out and have a look around.
1/26/00 - Switchboard Update
The Switchboard has finally been updated. Seven, count em, seven articles
in four months. So how was I supposed to update if
I had no articles to put up, eh? Please send more.
If you love the site so much, you will submit articles,
or else it will result in a closure of everybody's
favorite section.
1/25/00 - I Hope I Didn't Brain My Damage!
Tyler Durdon, aka.
Alan Smithee, aka. Mike McDaniel, aka. Dr. Nguyen
Van Falk, has officially lost his mind. Deconstructing
Simpsons Sites is now known as Viewing
Simpsons Sites On The Moon. If you want
the url, go somewhere else.
Simpsons fans from Argentina will be pleased to know
that Homer
Web has been redesigned.
1/24/00 - Well Hot Dog, We Have A Wiener
Well, now it's been
over a week since we've had our new design. I'd like
to thank everybody who had positive comments on the
changes, which was pretty much everybody. Nobody hates
the new design, in fact, we won 'Best redesign of
the week' at SS
News. I'll try to keep the daily updating
going as long as there is news to tell.
Brian Mayo is looking for somebody to take his old
site 'Springfield
Nuclear Power Plant'. If he doesn't find a
new owner he will close the site.
1/23/00 - KBBL Is Gonna Give Me Something Stupid!
The Domain name 'kbbl.com'
was originally going to be used for The Simpsons Web,
but now that it's not coming back, Ryan Irvine is
selling the domain to the highest bidder. If you are
making or own your own Simpsons site and want the
kbbl.com domain, contact Ryan and place your bid. (bids
start at $200). >
1/22/00 - I Was Saying Boo-urns
Well, redesign week is almost
over, but that doesn't stop one last minute entry
from participating. And it also doesn't mean it'll
stop next week. Minutes ago, A
Burns For All Seasons was uploaded with a
new design. Some people thought the site had been hit by
FOX, but the site is back and better than ever.
1/21/00 - You Are Hearing Me Talk
Today, The
Simpsons Sourcebook is holding the first of
three scheduled chats. If you would like to talk it
up with the staff of The
Simpsons Archive from snpp.com, you can do
it tonight at 8:00pm - 10:00pm American EST in the
TSS chat room.
Maximum
Homerdrive will be moving to a domain soon.
1/20/00 - We Aint Got Shelter-eenies
It wouldn't be redesign week without more
redesigns. The
Ned Flanders Realm has an excellent new layout.
It is very effective, and one of the best layouts
I've seen for a while.
I
Can't Believe It's A Simpsons Site also released
it's new design. Many of you would have already seen
it if you're a regular visitor. Personally, I like the old one
better, but this one is still pretty nice.
1/19/00
- Cease & Desist
Greetings, friend. One of
the regulations of the new Simpsons Channel is that
websites who are listed on our content pages must
link back to us. Text, button, or random link, whatever.
If you are listed and do not add a link within a week,
your site may be removed from our listings. Thankyou.
1/18/00 - More Redesigns
The redesigns keep on coming.
Today we've got brand new designs from Sideshow
Bob Gallery and SS
News. Sideshow Bob has one of the weirdest
designs I've ever seen.
Evergreen
Terrace is back open for business after server
problems earlier this week.
1/17/00 - Re-planting The Tree
Most people were expecting
it earlier, but the new Simpsons
Tree has finally been uploaded today. The
new design is much more simple, but now you don't
have to sit through that nasty loading time. It looks
great, so go have a look!
It seems like it's the week for redesigns. Simpsons
Surplus, The
Simpsons Matrix, Wiggum's
World and The
Springfield Public Archives have all redesigned.
Have a look.
1/16/00 - Celebrate With The Simpsons
As you may already know,
this week marks the tenth anniversary of The Simpsons.
To mark the event, here's just a taste of what's happening
this year.
• Relaunch of the official simpsons site, at thesimpsons.com
• Development of two more Simpsons video games
• A star on the Hollywood walk of fame (unveiled on
Friday)
• A line of PEZ dispensers with Simpsons characters
on them
• An hour tv special comemmorating ten years of the
show
Here's links to some articles on the event.

The
Long Life Of Grandpa Simpson has been redesigned.
1/15/00 - And Finally...
Evergreen
Terrace is currently down due to problems
with the server and Call
of the Simpsons will be re-opening
soon.
1/15/00 - Nancy Reveals All!
The Simpsons star was added on the Hollywood Walk
of Fame yesterday. During an interview with Nancy
Cartwright about the event, she told us that she still
has season 12 to do, and that Fox are negotiating
on three more years after that! For the full interview, click
here.
1/15/00
- Quit Livin' In The Past!
Welcome to the new look Simpsons
Channel. After having the same layout for over a year,
we felt it was time for a major change. And we've
done just that. The most obvious change is the colour
scheme. I hope you guys like blue. We've pretty much
taken the colour scheme from 'Springfield
Community Switchboard'. I have also given
myself more space to write about the news, as well
as room for a screenshot if needed. Take a look around and let me know what you think!
