Promos: The Book Job

Fox has released two promotional images for this Sunday’s episode ‘The Book Job’.

Lisa becomes disheartened when she learns the shocking truth behind the ‘tween lit’ industry and her beloved fantasy novel characters. But Homer decides to cash in on the craze and forms a team to group-write the next ‘tween lit’ hit, with the king of fantasy, Neil Gaiman (guest-voicing as himself), lending his expertise to the effort. After catching the eye of a slick industry publisher (guest-voice Andy Garcia) at the Springfield Book Fair, the team gets an advanced copy of their work and discovers that the corporate lit business is a bigger operation than they imagined.

Ratings: The Food Wife

A total of 7.53 million viewers watched last night’s episode ‘The Food Wife’. Whilst these are the weakest figures to date this season, the drop is still quite small on last week. Fox then struggled for the remainder of the night, with ‘Allen Gregory’ receiving just 4.24 million viewers – it’s third stinker of a week in a row. Once again, the network failed to bounce back for the night, with 5.96 million tuning in to Family Guy, down from 7.06 million at this time last year.

Fox was third overall for the night and second among adults 18 -49, boosted by Football which aired prior to The Simpsons.

Where the Simpsons Like to Eat in LA

The Simpsons Executive Producer Matt Selman talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming episode “The Food Wife” airing this Sunday November 13th.  In addition to revealing where his interest in the topic came from, he suggests a few restaurants in LA where The Simpsons like to dine.

Homer’s man-cave hangout The Golden State: “They mix beer and ice cream. Stick a donut in there and it’s perfect.” 426 N. Fairfax Ave., L.A., 323.782.8331, thegoldenstatecafe.com

Marge’s sweet stop Magnolia Bakery: “She’s been trying to figure out their banana pudding recipe, but Homer keeps eating it before she get it home.” 8389 W. 3rd St., L.A., 323.951.0636, magnoliabakery.com

Bart’s hard-core carnivore haven Feng Mao: “Pork intestines and lamb heart cooked over burning coals? It’s like a death cult in your mouth!” 3901 W. Olympic Blvd., L.A., 323.935.1099

Lisa’s politically-correct yet super-hip choice M Cafe de Chaya: “Full of cute vegan teenage actors.” 7119 Melrose Ave., L.A., 323.525.0588, mcafedechaya.com

Maggie’s four-alarm Thai favorite Jitlada: “She thinks it’s funny when Homer eats the Khua Kling Phat Tha Lung (beef dry curry) and sweats and cries and then screams and screams and screams.” 5233 W. Sunset Blvd., L.A., 323.663.3104, jitladala.com

To anyone who’s been to or lives in LA, what do you think? Agree?

Ratings: Replaceable You

A total of 7.97 million viewers watched last night’s episode ‘Replaceable You’. Although slightly lower than last week, these figures are keeping fairly consistent – we haven’t seen any big fluctuations yet this season.

‘Allen Gregory’ followed at 8.30 with a very weak 4.31 million viewers, which goes to show, you cannot always successfully launch a new show off the back of a proven performer. Those numbers are far weaker than Bob’s Burgers. They’re also destroying Family Guy, providing a weak lead-in to a new episode has given the show its second week of low numbers – 5.73 million people tuned in. American Dad ended the night with 4.78 million viewers.

Fox was second placed among total viewers as well as in the 18 – 49 demographic. NBC beat the network in both categories thanks to Sunday Night Football.

Rate last night’s episode with the poll below. New episode ‘The Food Wife’ airs next Sunday 13 November.

Real Life “Blinky” found near Nuclear Power Plant

Meet the real life “Blinky”.

This three-eyed fish was caught in a lake outside a nuclear power plant in Argentina. The fishermen who caught the strange fish declined to eat it and are instead having it tested to see if the mutation occurred from something in the water.  The media in Argentina immediately began comparing it to “Blinky” from The Simpsons who fans will remember from the Season 2 episode “Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish”.

I wonder if the owner of that nuclear power plant will now run for governor and be forced to dine on said fish at a local family’s dinner table.
